Rosy Bagolie
General Assembly- 27th District
Assemblywoman Dr. Rosaura “Rosy” Bagolie (D – Essex, Passaic) proudly serves New Jersey Legislative District 27 and is a member of the Financial Institutions & Insurance and Education Committees. She offers a distinctive viewpoint as a Jewish-Latina immigrant whose family moved from the Dominican Republic.
As a lifelong educator and school administrator, Dr. Bagolie is committed to the transformative power of education. She has achieved top positions in her field, including Principal, Superintendent, and Chief School Administrator of the East Newark School District.
Before taking office as Assemblywoman, Rosy served as Councilwoman in Livingston Township, participating on the Township Planning Board, the Committee for Diversity and Inclusion (LCDI), the Advisory Committee for Disabilities (LACD), acting as Council Liaison for Senior, Youth, and Leisure Services, and joining the Emergency Planning Committee.
Rosy graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences, obtained her Masters in Elementary Education and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the same institution, and later earned a second Masters Degree in Special Education at Rutgers University. She is also a Certified Business Administrator.
Living in Livingston and a member of Temple B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills, her husband, Ricky, is an attorney, and they have three remarkable sons together.
