Michael Venezia

Assemblyman Michael Venezia represents New Jersey’s 34th Legislative District—home to Belleville, Bloomfield, East Orange, Glen Ridge, Nutley, and Orange—continuing his service to the communities he’s long cared for.

An Italian-American Bloomfield native and lifelong New Jerseyan, Venezia graduated from Monmouth University (BA) and earned his M.A. in Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University, later building his career as Director of Human Resources at Essex County Schools of Technology.

Elected mayor in 2014 as Bloomfield’s youngest ever, he spent a decade strengthening public safety, lowering property taxes, expanding parks, and leading flood control initiatives. In 2023, he stepped into the State Assembly and, since January 2024, has served on the Budget and Judiciary Committees.

Venezia brings a grassroots, solutions-focused approach—working to make life more affordable, support workers, and strengthen local infrastructure. His new chapter in Trenton continues his commitment to Essex County families.

Michael resides in Bloomfield with his wife and three daughters.
