Jill Fischman

Jill Fischman is a long-standing educator and dedicated community servant who now seeks to represent Bloomfield as an At-Large Council Member.

A proud Bloomfield resident for over 40 years, Jill’s commitment to her community began early—she is a graduate of the Bloomfield Public Schools. She furthered her education and obtained degrees from TCNJ, the University of Phoenix, and Caldwell University. With 26 years of experience in education, she’s taught across all grade levels and coached multiple sports, becoming a respected high school teacher in Union County over the past 15 years. 

For years, Jill has served on the Bloomfield Board of Education, including a term as its president. In that role, she championed inclusive programming, tackled COVID‑19 learning loss head-on, and secured millions in funding for school improvements. Under her leadership, the district earned national recognition for initiatives like the Sandy Hook Promise.

Jill Fischman brings her deep-rooted educational insight, proven leadership, and commitment to youth development to her candidacy for Council At-Large. She is grounded in Bloomfield values and driven to empower her community.
