Eliana Pintor-Marin
General Assembly- 29th District
Eliana Pintor Marin, born and raised in Newark’s East Ward, comes from a lineage of hardworking Portuguese immigrants. As the first in her family to graduate from college, she earned both her BA in Legal Studies and MA in Government & Politics from St. John’s University .
In 2013, she was appointed to fill a vacant Assembly seat for District 29 and has served continuously ever since, being re-elected through 2025 Since 2018. She has served as Chair of the Assembly Budget Committee, a key role that shapes New Jersey’s $50 billion state budget. She also holds seats on the Appropriations and Joint Budget Oversight Committees.
Before joining the Assembly, Pintor Marin worked in both the private sector and public administration, including the Essex County Clerk’s office and as Division Manager for Passport Services .
A committed public servant, she also serves her community through roles like Advisory Board member for Newark Public Schools.
Eliana and her husband, Anthony, reside in Newark with their three children, where she continues to advocate for working families and equitable government.
