Bob Dreyfuss, born and raised in New Jersey, is a district leader in Maplewood and a lifelong Democrat.

Bob Dreyfuss, born and raised in New Jersey, is a district leader in Maplewood and a lifelong Democrat. Mostly retired now, Bob is co-editor of an influential publication called The New Jersey Democrat. The Democrat covers statewide New Jersey politics, with a focus on corruption, malfeasance, and machine politics, and it reports on local, state, and federal political campaigns. For decades, Bob has been an investigative journalist, writing for a wide range of magazines, including Rolling StoneThe NationThe New RepublicThe American ProspectMother Jones, and many others. He’s appeared regularly over the years on radio and television, from “Morning Joe” and the PBS Newshour to “Hannity,” and he traveled widely, reporting from Vietnam, Iran, China, and Tanzania.

 

Previously, Bob was the communications direction for Public Citizen, the consumer watchdog organization founded by Ralph Nader.

 

Bob is a graduate of Columbia University, and Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, New Jersey. He lives in Maplewood with his wife, Barbara. They have two children, Justin, who lives in Chicago, and Anna, who lives in Bloomfield.
