Joe Rospars
State Committee Member

Joe Rospars is Founder & CEO of Blue State, an independently-owned, cause-driven agency, where he leads an award-winning team sought after by organizations around the world for creative that inspires people, strategies to mobilize support, and expertise building and leading movements.
Locally, Joe serves as a district leader for South Orange’s 8th election district, focused on improving Democratic turnout. After being unnerved by the uncomfortably close margin in New Jersey in the 2024 presidential election, and seeing that no one had even run to be their district leader, Joe and a neighbor volunteered and were appointed in early 2025. Since then, the 8th district has posted both the greatest improvement over its average turnout in prior elections and the highest overall turnout among South Orange’s districts in the 2025 general election and the 2026 special primary election.
Nationally, Joe served as chief strategist for Elizabeth Warren’s 2020 presidential campaign. Earlier, he was the top digital strategist and advisor overseeing Barack Obama’s groundbreaking campaigns in 2008 and 2012. Overall, Blue State has helped clients raise more than $3 billion in grassroots donations to charities, causes, and campaigns, and works with clients ranging from Doctors Without Borders to Planned Parenthood Federation of America to the National Democratic Redistricting Committee. Blue State’s staff are represented by the Communications Workers of America Local 1101.
Joe has also served on the board of the PTA for Marshall Elementary School, through which he learned to safely operate a t-shirt cannon for spirit day, and on the steering committee of the Meadowland Park Conservancy, through which he and other volunteers have delivered two seasons of Flood’s Hill sledding free of goose poop. He lives with his wife, daughter, two dogs, and two chickens.
