I am an active participant in Bloomfield community organizing and have had a steady presence in local civic life for the last five years. I currently serve as an elected District Leader in Ward 1 District 9 and regularly attend and participate in public meetings, especially the Board of Ed, Zoning Board, and Town Council meetings.

Recently, I ran for Mayor of Bloomfield in the November 2025 election. When I ran for mayor, my commitment was and is to encourage everyone to take a seat at the table. We need to share local news among our neighbors and encourage involvement in large and in small ways in our town. One way I do this is to write for The Bloomfield Chronicles.

When I say “everyone,” must be able to take a seat at the table, I especially mean attracting young people and encouraging them to understand civics and how they can begin a fresh start, a long-lasting impetus to get Bloomfield to work for its citizens, not just the “chosen few.” One way I do this is to encourage folks to become local block organizers as I go canvassing in their neighborhood.

Senator Andy Kim often states with pride and awe that his job description—US Senator—is in our US Constitution. I’d like our current Mayor and Council to consider that their job descriptions are in our town Charter. I’d like our State Senators and Assembly to consider that their job descriptions are part of our New Jersey Constitution of 1947 and that government work is public service—it’s not lobbying and participating in pay-to-play.

My platform is building coalitions, community organizing, and engaging voters in having a say in how their town operates and responds to their needs. When civic engagement improves, so does Bloomfield. Our politics in Bloomfield, Essex County and New Jersey need not be a joke. We need active, honest citizens making this work for all of us. I’m here to help that happen.
